Senior Research Scientist II

Dr. Ann Hu’s primary research interests include linking the formative and summative assessments, item bank development and maintenance, enhancing the computerized adaptive testing (CAT) engine, test security, and norm study. Dr. Hu has extensive experience in conducting psychometric analyses and research based on Rasch models and item response theory, constructing fixed form and CAT, and standard setting.

Before joining NWEA, Dr. Hu worked at Data Recognition Corporation (DRC) on multiple, large-scale achievement testing programs for Pennsylvania, Michigan, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Alabama, and Minnesota. Dr. Hu holds a B.S. in Psychology and a M.Ed. in Educational Psychology. She received her doctorate in Measurement, Evaluation and Cognition at the University of Alberta.
