Precisely measure growth and performance
Learning Made Visible
MAP® Growth™ measures what students know and informs what they’re ready to learn next. By dynamically adjusting to each student’s performance, MAP Growth creates a personalized assessment experience that accurately measures performance—whether a student performs on, above, or below grade level. Timely, easy-to-use reports help teachers teach, students learn, and administrators lead.
Growth Over Time
MAP Growth reveals how much growth has occurred between testing events and, when combined with our norms, shows projected proficiency. Educators can track growth through the school year and over multiple years.Download Fact Sheet
Interim Assessment for Growth
Measures performance of every student, whether on, above, or below grade level—even if standards change
MAP Growth for Science
Support STEM efforts with MAP Growth for Science, an interim assessment for grades 3-9. This one science assessment covers three key domains: life sciences, earth and space sciences, and physical sciences. Use the precise, real-time results to personalize instruction throughout the year for every student.
Common Core MAP Growth
Common Core MAP Growth data provides you with a clear picture of K–12 student growth term-to-term and year-over-year. Get insights into every student’s learning needs, while gaining valuable information about student progress with a common core assessment that measures real growth—even if you experience proficiency drops on your summative assessment.
End of Course Assessments Math
At the end of the year, use these 5 tests to measure upper-level math knowledge. Every license for MAP Growth includes five End of Course mathematics tests: Algebra 1; Geometry; Algebra 2; Integrated Mathematics 1 and 2; and Integrated Mathematics 3. End of Course assessments aren’t pretests or mastery tests. Instead, use them to measure your students’ understanding of specific content after a year of instruction.
MAP Spanish Mathematics
MAP Growth Spanish Mathematics for grades 2-12 measures your English Language Learners’ knowledge of mathematics more accurately. Quick, accurate results from MAP Growth Spanish Math help you create targeted instruction, track student growth, and make direct comparisons between English- and Spanish-language MAP Growth Mathematics scores.

Reports Designed for Insight
MAP Growth reports transform raw data into insights that help educators take action.
Teachers use them to differentiate instruction and pinpoint individual student needs. Higher-level reports give administrators the context to drive improvement across entire schools and systems.
See how MAP Growth engages students and measures enough depth of knowledge to determine a student’s true understanding.
Results that Educators Trust
NWEA uses anonymous assessment data from over 10.2 million students to create national norms. Educators compare their students’ performance against norms to evaluate programs and improve instruction—in individual classrooms and throughout school systems.
Every question on a MAP Growth assessment is calibrated to our RIT scale. Because the equal-interval scale is continuous across grades, educators can trust it to track longitudinal growth over a student’s entire career.
MAP Growth tests begin with a question appropriate for the student’s grade level, then dynamically adapt throughout the test in response to student performance. This progressive refinement allows MAP Growth to challenge top performers without overwhelming students whose skills are below grade level.
PRODUCT FEATURE Instructional Connections
MAP Growth is connected to the industry’s most extensive array of instructional partners to help schools and districts get more from tools they’re already using.
It’s the most well-researched test out there. I’m continually impressed by the norm studies and other research NWEA publishes. I feel good about the quality of the results. When I’m asked about the credibility of the test, I know what I’m saying is research-based.
