Streamlined, empowered,
and on track for reading success
About: Eufaula City School District is the oldest city school district in Alabama. A stone’s throw from the Georgia border, the small district serves 5,777 pre-K–12 students.
Challenge: Teachers supporting early learners at Eufaula Elementary School were overwhelmed with time-consuming, unreliable reading assessments. Despite multiple measures, the resulting data lacked specificity. Teachers and coaches had a difficult time drilling down to specific skills and competencies, making early intervention difficult. Eufaula students, who frequently enter school performing below grade level, could ill afford the status quo.
