NWEA Selects New President of District Division

Focused role will provide critical educator voice to the organization’s services to districts and schools

 

Portland, Ore., June 28, 2022NWEA — the not-for-profit, research and educational services provider serving K-12 students — announced today that Dr. Fred McDaniel will serve as the organization’s new President of District Division.  As the president, Fred will provide leadership to drive the growth of the organization and its focus on service and support to more than 4,500 school districts in the US and in 146 countries.

“I am humbled and honored by this opportunity to continue to serve students, teachers, principals and administrators in this broader capacity. My colleagues at NWEA are passionate about our mission and work, and I look forward to collaborating with them on behalf of kids,” said Dr. Fred McDaniel.

Fred has been with NWEA for more than seven years serving in key leadership roles, including his most recent role of EVP of Assessment and Professional Learning leading the Content Advocacy, Psychometrics, School Improvement and Professional Learning teams. Previously he led the Product Management team at NWEA and served as VP of Operations.  Prior to NWEA, he served as the Chief Planning Officer for a large public school system in South Carolina and has also managed assessment and accountability systems in the public sector. Fred holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research as well as a Master of Education in Educational Research and Measurement from the University of South Carolina.
