10 do’s and don'ts of
student test preparation
Assessment data is the Swiss army knife in any educator’s toolbox. From developing lessons and determining interventions to curriculum selection and strategic plans, trustworthy insights are a valuable tool, useful in a variety of scenarios.
However, the data is only useful if students are well-prepared, engaged and giving their best effort during the assessment. Preparation does not mean, “teaching to the test,” and it bears repeating—preparation is not teaching to the test. Test preparation is providing students with the information, encouragement, and setting they need to do their best. Here are 10 do’s and don’ts of student test preparation.
