Common Core Standards

Common Core standards align a wide range of K‐12 education content standards into a single, unified platform, but states will implement the standards in a variety of ways. NWEA is helping partners understand and prepare for the transition.

In a current Huffington Post article, Getting Smart blogger and author Tom Vander Ark says that MAP adaptive assessments are an essential tool for beginning to pinpoint learning levels and gaps. It's one of "10 ways that digital learning will benefit low-income students," says Vander Ark. "Digital learning won't close the achievement gap," he says, "but it will lift the floor."
