Dryw Freed

Dryw Freed, EdD, is a lead content designer for NWEA. She spent over 20 years as a teacher and instructional coach, specializing in literacy and gifted education, and she has maintained connections with her students by leading extracurricular book clubs and writing clubs. She has used her experience developing state summative assessments to provide professional development related to assessment literacy at the school, district, and state level. Dryw wrote her dissertation on research practice partnerships (RPPs), organizations created to bridge the gap between researchers and practitioners, a topic she considers particularly fitting given her own combination of hands-on and theoretical experience. In her time at NWEA, she has worked on developing summative assessments for states including New York, Missouri, and Mississippi.
