How to add a student testing account

When a student record does not exist in your local testing database, you can add a student testing account to both the Network Test Environment (NTE) on the local server and the database on the NWEA server at the same time.

  1. Launch and log in to the Network Test Environment (NTE) Admin 2 software. Note that Teacher accounts do not have permissions to log into NTE Admin 2.
  2. From the top menu, click Manage Students > Add New Student. The Add Student Profile screen will appear.
  3. If you are adding a record for a student who may already exist in the database but at a different school in the district, click the Search Student link near the top of the screen to locate and move that student's record to the NTE for the new school. Note that this action will require a district-level login. If you are adding a record for a student who is new to the district, click the Add Student button.
  4. In the Add Student Profile screen, complete all fields with a red asterisk. Use the Add Another School link if the student is enrolled at more than one school in your district. This feature will add the student record to each school's NTE.
  5. When you have completed the student profile, click the Save & Close button to save the student record to the NWEA database.  If NTE Admin 2 discovers a similar record in the NWEA database when attempting to add a student, it will allow you to view and edit the potential duplicate record rather than proceeding with your entry. If you confirm that the flagged student profile is not a duplicate, you may click to ignore the warning.
  6. After the student record has been saved to the NWEA database, you will be prompted to add the student to your local NTE folder. Click Yes to download the student info to the select school's NTE folder so it is available for selection in MAP TestTaker. If you decline to download the student info at this point, then you will need to manually download the student's data prior to testing.
