Nate Jensen, PhD

Vice President of District Research

Nate Jensen specializes in issues related to the use of student testing data in accountability systems and its application to myriad policy decisions. He has provided consultation and support to teachers, administrators, and policymakers across the country to help establish best practices around the uses of student achievement and growth data. His research interests include test motivation, chronic absenteeism, and issues related to teacher and school accountability.

Dr. Jensen engages directly with school systems to influence educational practices and policies that promote student success and conducts rigorous research that is directly relevant to educatorsā€™ work with their students. Before joining NWEA, he was a senior research associate in the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas and a teacher at The New England Center for Children. Dr. Jensen holds a PhD in counselor education from the University of Arkansas.
