We make the NWEA mission visible through our national policy and advocacy work
This work supports and impacts lasting, positive changes to student learning through partnerships, research, and regular dialogue with education stakeholders and policymakers at the school, district, state, and federal levels.
At NWEA, we created a National Agenda to communicate our priorities and provide strong direction to our work.
All aspects of our National Agenda serve one overarching goal: to help teachers, principals, administrators, and all education stakeholders support academic growth for all students.
To achieve this goal, we focus on five key topics that will guide policy and advocacy work at NWEA.

Support states, districts, and schools in their selection of the right assessment for the right purpose by embracing multiple measures in every students’ teaching and learning plan.
Promote school improvement through the use of assessments that provide school leaders with actionable insights on their learning culture and their students’ ability to apply what they know to real world problems in reading, math and science.
