Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act
The Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund under the CARES Act provided roughly $13.5 billion in emergency aid for K–12 school districts across the nation. The grant was distributed to states based on their share of Title I-A funds to address the impact caused by unexpected and sudden school closures as a result of COVID-19.
