NWEA maintains high quality assessments, developed by educators with broad curricular and/or teaching background. We continue to expand our assessments by working with select individuals – current educators or professional assessment content developers – on a freelance basis under paid contract.

Content Areas and Grade Levels

  • Grade Levels — K-12
  • English Language Arts
  • Mathematics
  • Science

Please reference the type of contract work to which application is being made, including content area and grade level(s).

  • 2+ years teaching experience in Language Arts, Mathematics, or Science
  • Master’s Degree in content area preferred
  • Previous experience in the development of K-12 assessments
  • Resident of the United States

Contracted Freelance Content Developers must be able to work remotely, with a strong adherence to deadlines. Because this is a remote-work position, content developers must be able to negotiate technology and learn new technologies as needed.

Following the selection process, qualified individuals will be added to NWEA’s approved content developer bank and will be contacted for availability when specifications or projects in discrete content areas are open for fulfillment.
