Fusion Portland 2018 will be here before you know it! It’s happening June 27–29 at the Portland Marriott Downtown Waterfront. Check out our great conference lineup—full of breakout sessions designed to help you put your MAP Suite data to work. You can also join us before Fusion, on June 26, for one (or two!) of these professional learning workshops:
- MAP Growth: Essential Reports for Teachers
- MAP Skills: Essential Reports and Data
- MAP Growth: Essential Reports for Administrators
- Data Conversations
- Instructional Ladders
- Why Assessment Literacy Matters
Space is limited, so make sure to reserve your spot now for the Fusion workshop you want to attend!
As with our past Fusion conferences, we also have some great keynote speakers on tap. On Wednesday, Michael Bonner is scheduled to speak, and on Thursday we have Angela Maiers.
With only four years in K–12 education, Michael is seen as a visionary leader. In 2017, Bonner was honored by Ellen DeGeneres in recognition of his positive and innovative educational approaches. He understands that his students come to class each day with diverse backgrounds, strengths, needs, and challenges, and seeks to identify strategies to ensure the growth of their social, emotional, academic, and psychological needs. Because of his approach to education, students leave feeling a little more hopeful, challenged, inspired, and forever a part of Bonnerville! Come hear Bonner speak about how motivation leads to innovation.
Angela earned a BS in Education with a minor in Neuroscience and Master’s Degrees in Literacy and Ed Leadership. She is the author of eight books, including Liberating Genius, The Habitudes, and The Passion-Driven Classroom. Angela founded Choose2Matter to challenge and inspire students to work collaboratively to develop innovative solutions to social problems. Since its launch, Choose2Matter has evolved into a movement that supports parents, educators, and employees across the world. Come here Maiers speak about the importance of two words—“you matter.”
And on Friday, join your host Nick Kalakailo for Pardon the Eruption, an NWEA game-style event based loosely on ESPN’s “Pardon the Interruption.” John Cronin (VP, Education Research), Melissa Bain (Senior Account Executive) and Lissa Brunan (Assessment Specialist, Grand Valley State University) will answer and debate the toughest, most perplexing questions that you, the audience come up with!
If you haven’t yet registered for Fusion Portland 2018, you can do so here. And be sure to check out our latest video—Expand Your Community—below. Hope to see you in June!
