Poway Unified Nurtures Growth for All Students
Poway Unified School District inspires its 33,000 students with a commitment to graduate college-ready. To fulfill on this goal, the district partners with NWEA to implement the MAP suite of computer adaptive assessments.
Highlights from a Long Association
Since 1998, when Poway first started working with us, its educators have become adept at using data to nourish growth in every child.
MAP results have been used to:
- Help improve AYP for students on NCLB
- Design instructional groupings based on RIT scores
- Identify learning readiness and opportunities for growth
"We weren't expecting to see such consistent, major growth for our students across the board. But now that we know what our students are ready to learn before we even begin teaching them, growth is inevitable - even for our gifted and talented and Title I students."
-Linda Foote, Instructional Technology Specialist, Poway Unified
