District Level Growth

Chilton Public School District Designs Programs with Data

Decisions Fueled by Data
For the Chilton, Wisconsin public schools, data from our MAP assessments has become the catalyst for developing innovative programs throughout the district. Armed with accurate, detailed information about its students, the district has transformed how and what it offers.

The middle school math curriculum is a case in point. When data revealed that kids were underchallenged, the district developed a new curriculum that met kids at their level, and inspired them to go up from there.

"The use of MAP assessments has empowered the Chilton Public School District to develop and sustain a strong focus on a data-driven approach to student achievement. Now, with ten years of 'banked' NWEA student data, we have the ability to observe trends, evaluate program effectiveness, focus on student cohort achievement, etc.   Additionally, MAP assessments allow the district to compare local student achievement on a national scale.  As we prepare our students to compete in a global marketplace, these comparisons are important to us and the community we serve."
