School-Level NTE Folders versus District-Level NTE Folders

When building your testing folder - your Network Test Environment (NTE) folder - you have the option of downloading data for a single school in your district or your entire district's worth of data. Once data is first downloaded, the "level" of the folder is established, meaning the data in the folder is set to only include data from a particular school or only include data from the entire district for the remainder of the testing season.

It is recommended that folders be built at the school level.

For districts that are comprised of more than one school, creating separate NTE folders for each allows for greater flexibility and security. With separate folders, it is possible to download or upload data at one school while another is concurrently testing. Such a setup is also safer for data storage, as test results will be spread between multiple locations, rather than a single one.

Please note: Once a folder has had its "School Level" (whether that is school-specific or district-wide) established, all transactions with the folder must occur at the same level. So for example, if a folder is set to be district-wide during downloads, uploads must occur at the district level as well.
