Network Permissions
On a network of computers, each account used to log on has specific attributes that determine what that user can and cannot access. Those attributes are commonly known as Network Permissions.
Network permissions most commonly affect what files and folders a user can access on a network. For example, network permissions determine:
- Whether or not a user can "see" the Network Test Environment (NTE) folder.
- Whether or not a user can modify files or folders within the NTE folder.
For the purposes of MAP testing, it is important to note that all user accounts that access the MAP TestTaker application or the NTE folder must have both "Read" and "Write" permissions to the respective locations of each.
Please note: network permissions apply to your local network only and are determined by your local System Administrator, and not NWEA. If network permission problems are preventing you from completing an action necessary for MAP testing, please consult your local System Administrator for assistance with local network permissions.
