MAP TAA Error -2147166499

Error -2147166499 (Error accessing codebase file)

Follow these steps to correct this error:

  • Verify that the user running MAP TAA has sufficient read and write permissions to the NTE folder. If you receive the error message after changing the permissions, continue to the next step.
  • Verify that MAP TAA is accessing the NTE folder through a mapped drive as follows:
    • In MAP TAA, from the Tools menu, click File Server Configuration.
    • Browse to the applicable NTE folder.
    • Click Browse and then find the NTE folder through the network rather than selecting a mapped drive. If you still receive the error message, continue to the next step.
  • If some of the downloaded files are transferred before the error occurs, it may be because your firewall, proxy, or packet filtering software blocks downloads of zipped files. Most of a MAP TAA download package is zipped, but there will be two or three files which are not.
  • Verify that the firewall, proxy or packet filter software is not causing this error message by moving to a computer outside of the restrictions of your firewall, proxy, and packet filtering software and then re-download.

If these steps do not resolve the error, contact NWEA Technical Support at 877-469-3287.

Please Note: The new release of Network Test Environment (NTE) Admin 2 software fully replaces the MAP® Test Administration Application (MAP® TAA) for downloading and uploading your MAP® data, adding and modifying students and employees, and changing class assignments.

NWEA strongly recommends using NTE Admin 2 in place of TAA, as it includes a host of significant usability and functionality improvements, all designed to ease the process of downloading, uploading and modifying MAP® data. For more information, please visit http://www.nwea.org/adminhelp
