Introducing the Launch of NWEA’s SPARK Community
At the 2009 Summer Conference, NWEA previewed its new online SPARK Community – encouraging attending partners to sign up and join discussions around kid-centric education. Over the 3-day event partners were able to register and provide insights and experiences that helped shape the direction of the community.
Poway Unified’s “A MAP Story”
One of the many incredible experiences of partnering with educators is being able to witness and hear the amazing gains our partners are achieving utilizing MAP data with their students. The personal and inspirational stories of what happens when students become the owners of their own learning keeps us encouraged on in this journey, doing what we do to help all kids learn.
NWEA.org Gets a Back-to-School Makeover
School is back in session, books have been distributed, summer stories shared and anticipations and fears for the coming year discussed.
Here at NWEA, we have had quite a busy summer. Those of you who have been to www.nwea.org in the past few weeks may be able to guess what has kept us so busy.
What's Happening at NWEA
We’d like to give a huge thanks to everyone who made it out to our beautiful hometown of Portland, Ore. for this year’s Summer Conference. The event featured some lively presentations from Teacher of the Year Mike Geisen, former Teacher of the Year and Oprah Angel Award Winner Rafe Esquith, assessment expert extraordinaire Rick Stiggins, Senator Jeff Merkley and NWEA’s own Matt Chapman. It was an inspiring three days of thoughtful discussions around how to make education more kid-centric.
Now it’s time to gear up for our Winter Forum, happening February 4 & 5, 2010 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Back-to-School Testing Success
It’s that time of year again when teachers and students have to put away the sunscreen and beach novels and head back to school.
To help you ensure everything runs smoothly for testing, we’ve put together some helpful checklists of everything you need to have a successful fall MAP season.
